    Hey!
I just stumbled over this nice looking game called "oceanhorn"
And i really like this "minecraftish" looking terrain. Its pretty special in my opinion cause its not just blocks but more rounded blocks. here is a screenshot of the game:

and i was just wondering how to achieve this look in unity? so not editable and dynamically like in minecraft. i tried to use the terrain tool from unity but i dont think it was made for this kind of terrain even if you try to use a cube brush.

so any idea? or just share your thoughts about how you would do it. I think its a very interesting approach

I made one that is similar with a height-map that was checkered. The biggest obstacle is Unity paints on the terrain from the top so any vertical areas have horrible stretching but there are tools in the asset store to fix that.

do you know which tool from the asset store?
i also thought the terrain tool was useless because u could not have these tranistions from grass to stone that you see on this image, right?

I never thought of these levels as terrain. I had assumed they used some type of a grid modeling method. The ground level of the islands could defiantly be a terrain object.
