Absolutely huge lag caused by TextMesh Pro

    Can anybody give me any advice on why TextMesh Pro is taking huge chunks of time out of my framerate?
    It's happening across the game (Android) - from static menus, to simple scores on the game screen.
    The frame drops seem to almost be random.. some ui text elements use textAnimator in conjunction with textmesh pro and predictably they chug like hell when activated. But even when static and doing nothing these massive long spikes are happening. I've switched off auto-resizing, switched of debug logging, all stack traces etc.. and nothing is helping. Performanced isn't 'as' affected on 32bit arm, but 64bit is a nightmare.

    The whole game is being held back by this problem, so any pointers or help from anybody would be really appreciated!

    Unity is 2019.4.0f1.

    Ah - don't worry your pretty little heads.. an upgrade to 2021 seems to have fixed it. The fps are floating fairly neatly around 60 now, whereas before they were oscillating sharply between 30 and 60.
