.aab and multiple texture compressions

Is there a way to support multiple texture compressions with Android App Bundles? (say, ETC and ASTC).

I think the answer is no, but I'm posting here in the hopes that I'm wrong.

 

So, is this feature planned?

It would be nice to support and would make .aab files to be reasonably desirable.

I haven't looked into it again recently, but as long as Unity doesn't support it, I don't think there's much we can do.

And with amazing feature highlights from the recent roadmap such as "Support for iOS/Android new versions" to look forward to, don't count on ever having support for that.



Or they might support it just in time before Google changes their format again sometime in the next 5 years.

All textures will be encoded as Basis Universal in your binary package. And during texture loading they will be converted to best format that your device supports.
