    Hello everyone , this is a thread about a new zombie survival game dev based on weapon customization and crazy tech , for the moment i'm modelling the weapons and characters , i've animated two weapons with a lot of add on parts ( attachments ) . i've made zombie anims and player anims , all what i'm missing is some help form unity 3D users and dev , i'm looking for a noob teachers for unity 3d , as i am . Also i'm looking for suggestions and prepositions , so i can develop my game of course with your help ! i hope your get interest by the game idea dev So you can help . Gys i don't need votes a lot , i need replies . please help !

    Well the art and animations look great, but why do you want to do a zombie survival game? I only ask because the market is quite flooded with those. Your art and animations are top notch, if your going to go survival maybe add a system in thats totally not seen in zombie survival games. Good luck either way.

    Yeh , i know that the market or youtube is full of unity3D zombie survival games , but they're not finished , mine will be different , ( cooler style , awesome graphics and weapon textures , weapon costomization ... ) , all what i want is a few weeks so i can start development on the 27 of may 2016 . btw can you tell me how did you find this thread , cuz i thought that it was dead or somethiing like got deleted , and also can you give me an idea ?

    I found it by browsing the WIP, I tend to randomly check for new and cool things. I do enjoy survival games and your art is very good, animations are too. As for ideas, I would say make sure the inventory system is really smooth. I've played far to many survival games with clunky inventories, and since you're going zombie, go all out zombie. Many types of them (excluding dogs), I would like a zombie game where they are the main threat and the other players need to work together. Also not sure if your going with building but I would limit that to something like a defensive style system, where you take premade structures and reinforced the doors and windows. Something like that would feel much more real, compared to a game like 7 days to die (great game), where those zombies rip through houses and stuff like they're on steroids. Anyways that's just a few things i would do if I were working on a game like this.

    This is stunning. I absolutely love the weapons. How long did they take and are you using Substance tools by chance? I love the Allegorithmic toolset as a whole. But either way, this is awesome. Good luck!

    Thanks Bro , each weapon took me a while from 1-3 days cuz they are in a high-poly format , now i'm working on the low-poly format . i'm using substance painter as a texturing tool , it's great , awesome and i love it's working system . thnks again

    Well I would avoid the dogs, unless they aren't over powered. If you can continue with the great art and animations you have, give players a reason to work together I think you'll have something people will enjoy. Then add stuff after you have the basics in.

    Hello guys , again i'm back with new updates from my game , this is a blender render to start dev-ing my game , This is a render for the FPS hands and the first weapon to costumize AK-12 , and also it's a render to know how the game will look like :

    It looks like the player is looking from his neck. Maybe you can get the right camera position by actually put the camera in the right eye position, or between the eyes...

    Bro , as i said , it's not the final render of the game , it's just a blender render of my new textured FPS hands and the first weapon " AK-12 " , just to see how my game will look like , i'll fix the camera later , but thnks for the reply , have a good day ;)

    This is absolutely amazing.Are you a single person working on this game or is it a team. These graphics and Animations look too good.I wonder how much time it took for 1 person to create all of this.

    Thnks Budy , for the moment i'm a single person working on this game project , it took me about 4-5 months to make all of this ( Different zombie anims , 6 anims and more " knife , AK-12 , pistol , grenade , ammobox and medkit " and finally the character's anims )

    How did you get these graphics???? Some of the best I have seen... Ever. What type of shader are you using and how do you render the models?

    Bro , i texture my models with substance painter version n°2.0 with a different shader ,i use smart-material with some generators and some modifications , the shader that i'm using in blender is a self-made one to render my models and give inspirations ,to people , i render the models using cycles render . ;)

    Guys , i'm deleloping a new zombie survival game and i'm having some horible problems right here : 1- whaen i download unity3D 5.3.2 and lunch it , it chrashes . 2- i made my games' map with bledner and exported it into .FBX format , whaen i import it with assets into unity3D 5.1.0 , and i put a FPS controler and get closer to the assets , such as Reb Barrels , it gets slow , even if the models are in low-poly 3- i'm getting that weird shader's texture , i have the textures but it got like that even the Directional light is like that too , 4-Look at the video , i'm getting some weird things 5- How can i change the controls for the FPS controller that comes with unity3D 5 standart asset 6- In some asset in my game's map , i can go trough them , but i don't want to , how can i Fix them ? please guys i'm looking forward to recive positive replies and useful comments , please help

    Ohh those are some pretty basic problems. Maybe you should follow some of the unity tutorials first. Now as for that the game is slow your models have waaaaayy to many polys from what I can tell by your error messages. So you should also look up a tutorial about making 'game ready models'.

    If you get a prompt to file a bugreport when the engine crashes on start you should do so. Otherwise I think just redownload and install again as something might have been corrupted in the installation.
    Slowness is because of too many polys. As it says in the error message Unity handles meshes up to 65k verts before splitting them. It seems one of your meshes was split in 4 meaning it had 260k verts from the beginning, waaaay to many. For reference I try to not go over 10k tris on one individual object, don't know if that is a relevant measure, but that's what I have found is decent, in general the less the better as it taxes memory less when adding shaders. Many of the finer details should be added on the heightmap and normalmap, not be on the in game model. Roundness is something I've found for most objects of normal size usually tops off around 24-32 iterations, meaning that adding more sections just adds tris without really adding "roundness", use smoothing instead. The FPS-controller I assume has a help document or otherwise has been used so much that there are probably topics on it already, try searching. Going through assets -> add colliders accordingly.

    WOW , thnks bro for your reply , it helped a lot , i fixed my probelems , all of them , not i'm just wondering or think of a way to make my models more in lower in polygens number , but when i try to do that in blender , some of them gets weird and others gets really bad in mesh look ? any solution ?

    It depends on your target platform but I'm assuming PC. For really import and complex object like humans you can go a little bit above 10K tris but usually like MSD said you should try to stay below 10K tris on most object and if it are really simple object like a barrel you shouldn't be any higher then 100tris in my opinion. But in the end it all depends on what you can get away. If you have 100 humans walking around obviously your humans need to have a lower poly and tris count.

    I'm not all too familiar with modelling (I use Blender, but I'm primarily a texturer and programmer, modeller by "have to" circumstances). But the decimate tools can be used to lower the polycount, but usually have quite unpredictable results, so best is to either build the model with low poly count to begin with or try to lower a higher poly model manually by merging faces. This depends a bit on your workflow, if you make normal maps and heightmaps from your high poly models, then I suppose you'll have to find a good method of making low poly versions effectively. I tend to "draw" the details on the texture directly and usually don't make high poly versions aside from using smoothing and subdivide modifiers and similar tools that can easily be turned on and off.

    Hi , guys , i'm back again with 11.5% progress dev-ment of my game ,it took me long to get there also i took a month learning unity3D ( still didn't learn everything ) , i presnt you my game's dev-ment progress ( i've made a new youtube channel , if u want to follow the game's progress )

    ------------------------------ Progress 3% 05/07/2016 -------------------------------------


    +Added Glock20 as a sidearm
    +Optmized the map for a better performence
    +Added some Cool Basic Glock20 skins ( 11 Skin + The Original )
    +Imported all of the Basic models and textures for my game making
    +Added some basic scripts such as : Gun movment and Bullets impact


    -Still some Display and Graphical errors
    -Bullets' impacts are disappering after 5 sec
    -Still getting extended textures for the bullets' impacts after shooting in the corner
    -Still no Proper or Official textures / materials for the game
    -FPS hands still getting through walls and objects


    Still working alone on theis game

    ------------------------------ Progress 11.5% 25/08/2016 -------------------------------------


    +Added Proper and Official textures / smart materials for the game
    +Made the crosshair looks more better
    +You can aim with the Glock20 ( a very simple aiming system )
    +Added a zombie model ( Not animated and doesn't have any script yet )
    +Made the weather looks much cooler
    +Added a shooting sound and a muzzle flash for the Glock20
    +Added a lot of ready to use costomizations ( models and perfabs only )
    +Fixed most of the Display and Graphical errors ( Except for shadows )
    +Bullets' impacts aren't disappering after 5 sec
    +Added some Dynamic-Snow above the Starting-Workshop
    +Added some Bloom
    +Upgraded the Textures' resolution up to 2k/4k
    +The game can run at 60 - 120 FPS ( goes down to 16 - 14 FPS when u shoot a lot of bullets ) I'll figure something about this soon



    -Still didn't fix the extended textures for the bullets' impacts
    -FPS hands still getting through walls and objects
    -Still getting probelems with Camera Image-Effects such as ( SSAO PRO )
    -Still with the old aiming system and still no weapon anims
    -No muzzle flash after shooting in the Sky


    Still working alone on theis game

    Looks very promising, how deep will weapon customization go? I always search for games where you also can change buttstocks of the weapons.

    The customization system will go depper than you can even think , first , the customization system will be divided into 2 parts , ( Skills and Add-ons ) skills are like perks they help you speed up the reloading speed , the aiming speed ... , the Add-ons part , helps you make your weapon much better , you can change/add ( Scopes , muzzles , silencers , stocks , fast mags / mags ( drum , long ... ) , magpuls , barrels , grips , flashlights / laser sights , rails , more angled scopes ....... See , and that's why i'm looking for a script guy , my game is about 95% ready , but without a programmer , it's just 11.5% , i have everything for my game , anims , models ( about 14 zombie kinds , unity3D effects , 80-70 customization for rifles and snipers ,SMGs ..... and 20-30 customization for pistols ) i just need a programmer .

    the art its amazing... but i have to agree with Darrkbeast, there is enough survival zombie games around, if u could set a original setting with new and interesting features i think u can be much more successful. Anyway, the quality is definitely there... really good work.

    Okey , dude i totally agree with you , but i'll tell ya the part that i told to Darkbeast on a private conversation ( by a different way ) , Look the game , is Art and Script , art no script means nothing , Script no art also means nothing , but together , we have product , and that's what am i missing today , i'm looking for a programmer that i can make a deal with him , Maybe , he helps me and help him , if he's also making a game , or he can simply work for me and i'll give him a fair amount of money when i do the first release of my game , btw my game is really special it's has features that i've never seen them in a video game before , so that's i want a programmer , to speed up my game's dev-ment progress , before someone gets the same idea and use it .     Ow , thanks Raider , i'll keep up the good work , but right now i'm missing a Coder , i had two , the first one said that i have a serious problem in my English language ( even when i told him and promised him that i'll fix this problem , he isn't answering me anymore : i'm sure that he's busy and he is already in a project So , he doesn't have time for me ) . You know sometimes it's hard to explain something in a different language using basic words ( i'm sure that most of u will agree on this one ) . The second one isn't my real Coder , i just did a small favor for him , he ask for a repay , So i told him to make me the script ( i really don't count on this guy : i mean even if he finish coding the script after 3 months , i don't care cuz he is developing a game already ) , Now i'm trying to learn coding ( not full coding ) but at least something that i can make good from it , i'll learn from scripts that i have . have a good day , btw i'm making the update 16.7% and it looks really awesome i'm just trying to do the zombie AI script .

    Hey guys i'm back again with a little update on my game , it's actually a problem that i'm looking for it's Fix , So please if u have anything to share with me , please share it ? ( i didn't want to break the surprise of the next game update , So that why i have removed the textures from the gun , shown only a glock18 ...... ) Thanks
    1- I want this " Simulate " Button to work when i start playing the game , cuz actually it doesn't , please contact me if u want to see the script and Fix it for me ?

    2- I never had a problem such as this one while dev-ing the game , but it came out of no where , i was just missing with the model on Blender ( added a much better mesh ) and when i have imported the Glock18 into Unity3d , the Model is in it's position but the anims goes back to a weird origin positions when playing the game ( Please help me out ) ? i tried to child the Glock18 into and empty game object but still the same thing , any Fix ?

    I seriously never seen someone replying to the first comment of my thread ( cuz it's too old , from May 7 ), anyways :
    1-Those first pics are just some game impressions , nothing real or and in-game render ( they will be into my game , but not at the moment ) , got it
    2-Awesome graphics is the most important thing in the game ( second or third important thing in the game ) , graphics are what player sees , if there's a good story with no graphics , it's means nothing and no one will play it , If u notice that all 2016 games are focusing on graphical parts more on the other ones ( might be equal in some games ) Ex. Battlefield 1
    3-For the moment It's just me working on this game , I'm a modeller and an animator , not a programmer not a Unity professional and that's why i'm trying to get the most of graphics , systems ...... out of Unity3D's engine . and at some point i am stuck , so if u have some informations to share , please be helpful ? ( Anyways , what do u mean by saying " It seems too overwhelming " , do u mean the positive side or the negative side ( Even if there's no negative side :) ) , for more info about the programmer that i used to have , please read the above comments , just the one above yours and mine the problem , and u will understand much better .
    4-Well this is the first game that i'm trying to complete , but i cain't , cuz first there's a lot of problems that i'm facing in unity3D and there's no one to help , second i'm looking to a programmer , not to work fully with me , but at least to ask him somethings or send him some script so he can fix them .     i assume the same misalignment of your glock does not happen in blender , i do not know if you are using bones or not , but from not knowing much i can throw a shot in the dark at you , have you applied rotation and scale by going to object mode " - select all - object menu - apply submenu - rotation & scale" ? and then there is "Apply Root Motion" in unity you may try .

    any way i guess this is not the correct place to discuss help.

    secondly , i could try and assist you with the script a little bit , given that if it is unity 4 (free) compatible and c# only .

    i make no promises , just trying to be a little helpfull to a fellow user , you may contact me .

    Well , sure it doesn't happen in Blender and i'm using rigs ( Bones as u mentioned ) , Well for that fix i might not have tried it , but i'll give a S*** if i haven't tried it yet . Yeah , there's a check/uncheck button called "Apply Root Motion" , what do i have to do about it ? ( i tried checking it and unchecking it for many times , and it didn't fix the problem ) .
    Well , Would u like to show me the best way to ask for help while using Unity3D ? ( i tried facebook groups too , but nothing worked , can u imaging that there's more that 30k likes or members and no one cares about that group ( posts ) , well ofcourse not all 30k members are alive or online , but not after waiting for 4 days . also please don't tell me to do that Unity section and ask for help , i did that once and no ones cares , i always fell that the unity community is empty , have members but no comments / replies / help ..... , my post has been there for like 4 months or more )

    Just curious why do u want it to be a unity 4 compatible , Don't u have the latest free version of unity3d 5 ? ( i'll make sure that it's C# only , even if it isn't , i'll use a Pro converter , don't worry )

    what i was saying , was this would not be the place to discuss help , in regards to me cluttering up your project thread with help towards the problem you are having by discussing it here on your project thread , but if it does not bother you , or you do not mind , then - que sera sera.

    good luck , nice asset work so far dont worry most coders have it backwards in regards to asset creation most being unable to produce what you are able to do , keep going and , every project has hurdles to overcome , as long as you satisfy your personal goals on a personal level , be realistic , aim for achievable progress , and hope you find the kind of help you need .

    yes i only have version 4.5.5 , most of the newer features would be missing in my version, i do not want the (much later) new version at the moment .
