    Hey guys!
I am quite stuck now. I have a game idea, but I'm not sure if it will make it to the markets. Well, here goes.

I am thinking of making a online multiplayer game featuring monkeys shooting at each other. Wild, right? Anyway, every person can choose between being a monkey, baboon or a gorilla. You can choose between hordes of guns, ranging from pistols to sub machine to machine guns and snipers and missile launchers. The monkeys can also wear suits that increase their strength, defense or health. Maybe the monkeys also get to go around in bikes, cars, tanks, and helicopters.

It's not like I have the skill to pull it of, and basically everything is ready, even if the monkey models could use a little furnishing, but the very idea of it is crazy and I'm not sure every body will like it. Voice yourselves in the comments below.

    Thanks!
    Your 3D artist/Game dev,

    Haha -
    Welcome paw.
So all your assets are ready right?
Well - unfortunately that's about 10-20% of the work - maybe even less considering online multiplayer.

Best of luck. If all the assets are ready - show us some in game screenshots and renders of the assets. I'll surely give honest quality critiques for the art and animations you have already created.

Why not make them throw banana's or coconuts at each other? If you are going to have shooting, use humans. I don't think many would prefer playing a ape or a monkey over a human.

Agreed. Animals shooting each other with guns is just... icky.

Yeah, sort of like children shooting at each other.

Especially if they are shooting at human hunters. :)

I disagree that you should use human characters just because there is shooting in the game. Worms was a popular game that involved shooting without humans. It's also hard to make the conclusion that players won't like playing as a non-human shooting protagonist before a prototype of the game is even available.

As for the idea; it sounds intriguing but also very similar to every other shooter on the market. Graphics aside, what sets your idea apart from the others? Do you have a unique mechanic? Does the multiplayer relate to a narrative?

He asked for our opinions so we gave them. :) Nothing to disagree with. Just state your opinion.

Given the constant escalation of things that are used purely for shock value, I'm still wondering when we will see the first Call of Duty game where you play a child soldier in Uganda for a segment of the game.

That's what I did. I simply stated my opinion that he should stay with his current concept.

so... It's Battle Field but with monkeys? I imagine it kind of cartoony and goofy. who are you marketing this to? mobile apps? PC gamers? console gamers?
Parcore type movements have been creeping into a lot of shooters lately. I think Monkeys would be the best asset to explore this mechanic with. A game that doesn't get enough credit is Team Fortes 1. Make sure you understand the differences between 1&2 then design this like TF1 and add Parcore elements to it and I think you got a winner.

What's your asthetic? Going for a heavy military shooter won't work, the market seems well and truely saturated. But there is probably plenty of space for something comic and fun.

There's something gross and cringy about the whole idea. Kind of feels like you can contract a virus just from watching someone play it.

Love this idea (part of it)!

And make the environment to accommodate jumping, swinging, climbing. Good luck and show some screenshots!

Thanks guys. Your opinions really mattered. Maybe I'll think of changing from monkeys to humans if I get more votes in other forums. Thanks!

PS : On a second thought, I might not need to make the change.

Why can't coconuts and bananas shoot humans with monkeys?

Answer: Moot point, they totally can.

Also, another idea in my "Crazy Game Ideas" files.

To add to your initial idea, I would recommend to make the guns banana-style (that sounds kinda creepy when you say it outloud XD) like what they did in garden warfare, but instead of plants use bananas, coconuts, trees, rocks, etc.
