    I am trying to get my game as APK but when I try to build APK I am getting this error : a failure occurred while executing com.android.build.gradle.internal.tasks.workers$actionfacade see the console for details.

    Also getting this error -- seems to be the result of having mistyped my key password -- oops -- build succeeded

    I'm also getting this error. I have built the project dozens of times and have never gotten this error. I only just now got it and I can't seem to figure out a way around it.

    I solved it by making a folder in the C drive and build it from there

    Confirm that it's not your key i was having this same issue and i could have sworn i typed my key password correctly but after reading the posts here i went back read some of the error messages again and found it said things about my key so i retype it carefully and my app built successfully my point is retype your key and try building again

    I solved the problem by doing the following steps.
    1. Closed & Re-opened the project
    2. Entered the Keystore password before taking build
    and everything worked.

    I confirm it was a Keystore issue from password... weird.
    So I was lazy, and as I didnt upload the game to the store, i created a new keystore and set it as the main keystore, everything worked...

    Edit : Nop doing the same S*** again

    Edit : It's working by restard Unity everytime you get this issue

    Which Unity version do you use? Is this reproducible with the new empty project (when trying to sign it with a custom keystore)? Is this the only error? Is there any additional information in the error message?
    You could try to clear gradle cache which on OSX is at $HOME/.gradle/caches and on Windows is at %HOMEPATH%\.gradle\caches but this is just a guess. More information is needed to know what is causing this.

    Sorry Yes it's working. But doing the same stuff randomnly. Was an issue with my Android Manifest too.
    So I deleted this android manifest imported by Facebook sdk. And By closing and reopen unity it fix.
    So everytime I get this issue I close Unity and reopen it, and it work.

    Unity version 2020.1.1.2f1

    I get this error after setup mediation plugins packages

    Then I remove google admob file & plugins in project panel then setup again

    And problem solved

    Having the same problem, how to fix? It works with another keystore, but I need that specific Keystore for the game on google play. The keystore code that I input is 100% correct, i have tried re-entering the password, but no luck. Edit: Problem fixed, my keystore password was incorecct (oops :p)

    I stumbled on this today. I found that Gradle or whatever program that fired the exception did not like my passwords. I generated my passwords using alphanumerical and special values (*$%+:!...) using Bitwarden. After providing one with no special characters, the build succeeded.

    Okey guys so the other solution would be delete all Android stuff in your game to clean it.

    Facing the same problem. My slowest laptop take 20mins to build and then it gives the error each time. Which is killing me.

    EDIT :- I managed to solve the problem, finally. It took me a whole day. Actually the issue was with my package name. The package name had a word "throw" which was messing with java code. I replaced it with some other word and Voila, my apk got built

    We noticed this issue many times (from our customers of this plugin).
    Please follow the below steps for resolving it.

    1. Go to External Tool settings from preferences
    2. Toggle checkmarks (Enable and Re-enable) for Android SDK and Java entries
    3. Restart Unity (This makes sure Temp folders are recreated)

    Same problem here no solution. I even created a new key altogether and that did not fix it. I am using unity ads and upgraded from 2019 to 2020. This has got to be the most annoying bug/problem I had in my life. It waits for it to build the complete project and in the end it fails for a wrong password (which I am suspecting is not the case for me).

    UPDATE:

    Last night i deleted most of my game file(I have 1.3K) and reduced the number to 500. It worked. The files are in StreamingAssets.

    Today the Native share asset was throwing error and I needed to add some line in custom proguard file. Unity froze. Had to reopen and reinstale Native Share again and the problem is back.

    This all appears random to me, like it decides once every minutes what it does not like, but it will not tell you!

    I pack each time it takes 20 minutes, this error appears at the end every time, even if you want to find the error by comparison method can not help, I hope there is a fast way to find the error

    As mentioned in this thread, I closed and re-opened Unity, re-typed my key passwords and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks!

    Yep, restarting unity fixed it for me too. I swear, the amount of hours that could be saved if Unity's errors gave a "try restarting first" reminder. So many times! Why do I keep falling for it? :O

    yes this is very strange.
    I created a new password and restarted the Unity program.
    And the problem is solved.
    I think the program's mind is gone. We have to restart and bring it back.

    I am getting this error while I am trying to implement the admob ad mediation. I used the inMobi and Unity ads network. Without using these networks the build is successful. But when I integrate these networks, the build fails. AnyBody please help

    Whoever said to change the project keystore has helped tremendously.

    Edit > Project Settings > Player > Publishing Settings

    Then make a new custom keystore with your whole password, etc...

    This helped without having to go into the actual code and change anything.

    My current version is: 2020.3.17f1.

    Thought I'd post my fix here for those of you who, like me, tried all of the above to no avail. Try to change Minimum API Level to Android 5.0. It may not work for everyone but it resolved my issue immediately.

    I have experienced this error because of misspell of package name in manifest file of the native aar plugin which I wanted to incorporate in Unity project.

    In case you tried the following and it doesn't work:
    1. Retype password to Keystore correctly
    2. Unchecking and rechecking Android SDK, JDK, Gradle installation
    3. Restarting app
    4. Reimporting Asset
    5. Android Force Resolve

    This worked for me:
    - Try checking the "Split Application Binary" under Project Settings -> Publishing Settings

    Background:
    I moved some data under Streaming Asset on this version and apparently the .apk has a 100MB max size

    For me deleting the keystore file worked.
    If you are trying to build a debug version and the error is due to invalid format of the debug keystore file (see the details of the error in the console) then delete (or rename) the 'debug.keystore' file mentioned in the error. (gradle build will automatically generate the file again when the project gets build)
