I've been teaching Unity recently, and one of the confusing things for beginners is the difference between trigger and non-trigger colliders, especially when viewed in the scene view.

I thought a useful feature might be to display trigger colliders in a different colour, and allow those colors to be changed in a similar manner to the Project Settings -> Physics 2D -> Gizmos -> Collider Awake Color in older versions (I'm not where that setting has been moved to now).

I looked briefly at creating an editor script for this, but wasn't able to see a good place to hook into Unity's existing collider outline renderer to avoid having to rewrite all of that myself. Someone else might have more luck, or know of an existing solution.

Yeah, I have recommended this many times myself. There's a nice "color preferences" system, but most plugins and built-in components just don't do very much with it.
