8K resolution volumetric graphics game development with Unity

    Hi everyone

    Have anyone developed a game in 8K resolution? I'm currently on a project of developing a game in volumetric graphic , and it requires 8K resolution. You may already know holoplay sdk and looking glass technology.

    I encountered very poor performance of Unity when the level design reached more than 30 game objects in a scene. I did optimise the game objects by all the online suggestions and tools available in assetstore. But no hope. Unity keeps crashing and fps is lower than 30fps.

    I'm not sure it's the problem of 8K resolution or holoplay sdk. I tested in 4k resolution and it was much better performance.

    My pc specs:
    Intel 9700k processor
    32gb ram 3200mhz
    2 x rtx2080ti + nvlink

    I hope we can use this topic to share the experience and discussion about volumetric graphic and 8K resolution game development.
