This looks like a great asset, does it have any mound prefabs that are common boundaries to seperate fields ?

I would really like to see this added in the package.

LB Enviro Pack 1 Discord Channel

This style of architecture has been used in the northern part of England for hundreds of years (which is why we chose it).

You can use it for both modern and historic settings. To modernise the buildings, you might wish to add white rimmed wooden or aluminium window frames with glass.

Building interiors are largely empty with the exception of floors and stairs in multi-story buildings. This is to enable you to customise them to your particular game requirements and to make the spaces suit your overall look and feel.

And if you want to replace the floors and/or stairs, we allow you to do that too.

As the product gets traction in the store, we are planning to expand the pack based on customer requirements.

Sorry I just saw your reply now, I actually started developing a custom Ditch line asset for my project but im not sure how to develop it to work with spine tech, here is an image of what ive been working on and if it were something that you could have in your asset it would be great

We would typically create something like that in Landscape Builder by modifying the terrain. Is this what you had in mind?

His picture kind of looks like small hedgerows. I need something like that too, like the ones in Normandy.

I really like the look of the Enviro pack, something else to pickup after buying LB this Friday.;)

"100% Standalone but can be used with procedural placement tools like Landscape Builder to construct farms, towns, or villages."

Does that mean it's possible with Landscape Builder to create villages using procedural rules?

Yes. Here is a link to some video tutorials. The LB 2.0 Group Basics video by our team member David, should give you an overview.

LB doesn't include the actual buildings etc but it can work with pretty much any prefab you have. We're also working on some new features for procedural villages (within Landscape Builder, not LB Enviro Pack), so any suggestions on what would improve your game would be well received by the LB Team.

We made an early design decision not to include interior props. We did this so that the building assets could be used in may different style games. If we add interior props we'd also have to decide which time period those props belong to. As this building style spans literally hundreds of years, we felt that the game designer should be free to choice the time period without having to alter the assets.

Make some more modernish doors, and perhaps window frames, just like 2 of each, and a couple of different chimneys, things to give them a bit more modern(19-20th century) look. Maybe make some of the buildings "Modular", where you can make custom houses and such.

Anyways, awesome looking pack just the way it is. :)

Barns, cow sheds and add thatched roof as an option for some of the existing buildings

Thanks for the suggestion. We have 1 barn (with different texture styles) but more could be good. We use tiled roofing as that fits the real world area this is modelled on, but yes, thatched roofing may be suitable too.

Here is a screen shot of the windows coming to the houses in the 1.0.2 update.

    LB_EnviroPk1_House01Window.png
Houses with windows will be separate new prefabs with 512, 2K and 4K textures. Like other models in the pack, there are additional 1K textures should you need them.

why would anyone need 512 1k 2k 4k maps? u should only include 4k maps , buyers can scale them down in the import settings.it only makes your pack unnecessary large. also dont use photos for generating normal maps. try using substance or sculpt them in zbrush.

While there are free image converting programs available(Gimp, Paint.net), some people don't have experience with using that kind of software doing the conversions. I come from a computer science background and it took me a while to figure it out. So there are some people that could need the other resolutions. Not everyone knows how to use the Unity settings to manipulate the resolutions. And besides, you can probably uncheck the files that you don't want to download and import.

    No worries
Just trying to explain why there might be a few people that could need the extra files. Personally, I download and import assets to one project and import only the parts I need to my working project from there.

i get it, but it just seams tedious to do that when importing. while u can easily just import the 4k textures and set them to a lower resolution in graphic settings or on import compression

Thanks for your concern. All our normal maps come from one of the Substance suite. The 4K textures, including those in the LWRP and HDRP packages, take up over half of the entire package size and easily take the longest to import into a Unity project. The smaller textures are much faster. The different prefabs (which are grouped by texture size), make it easier for less experienced developers who want to test out scenarios. Having the pre-built prefabs also helps when performance testing.

Once a selection based on performance and visual quality has been made, the other folders can be safely deleted and not imported when new updates are downloaded.

Here's a new landscape we built using the following assets:

LB Enviro Pack 1 (buildings, fences, drystone walls, rocks, bridge assets, props etc)
Landscape Builder (creation of terrains, river, placement of buildings, fences, vegetation, roads & bridge construction)
Vegetation Studio Pro (GPU instancing of vegetation at scale - brilliant 3rd party asset)
Meadow Environment (vegetation, insects and some ground textures)
R.A.M. (water material for the river)

Together, these assets let create a wide variety of great looking landscapes.

    And from Unity we used
    • Unity 2019.1.0b8
    • Cinemachine & Timeline
    • Progressive GPU lightmapper (which is brilliantly fast)

Revised instructions for using the Post Processing example that comes with LB Enviro Pack 1.

Unity Post Processing Stack v2 assets require Unity 2018.2.0f2 or newer.
    1. Go to the Unity Package Manager and install Post-processing 2.0.11 or newer
    2. Create a new Unity Layer called "PostProcessing"
    3. From the Unity Editor double-click on LB_Enviro_Pack_1_PostProcessing package within this folder
    4. Drag the LBEnviroPk1PostProcessingVolumes prefab within this folder into the scene hierarchy
    5. Add Post Process Layer component (script) to your camera in the scene
    6. Ensure Allow HDR is enabled on the camera
    7. On the Post Process Layer script, set the Layer to PostProcessing
