5.2.1 has not fixed the MAJOR bug with 5.2's new SpritePackerRotation feature that makes it unusable

See above image for a good example of the issue happening. It is extremely simple to reproduce - doesn't require a custom IPackerPolicy or anything.

For an example of "correct vs incorrect" see this imgur album: http://imgur.com/a/ixVtI

This feature has the potential to be amazingly helpful, but its strange that it was shipped in a completely broken state that seems to be very easy to reproduce. Stranger still that it wasn't fixed in 5.2.1

Are the Unity devs aware of this? I'm guessing it's just a very insidious bug?

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by reporting it. If a bug is a major problem then check the issue tracker, if you find it give it a vote, if not then report it.

Thank you for responding, @karl.jones . I've submitted reports for quite a few past bugs without ever seeing any indication of them being read.

However, I did so anyway per your suggestion - including a very simple reproduction example that reliably reproduces the issue.

    It can be found at...

Edit: Also no one has reported this previously, as far as my searching (forums, issue tracker, google) has been able to determine.
