In this test scene in 4.6.b17, the new GUI elements do not show up in the standalone build. They are also absent in my web player. Works fine in the editor Play mode.

The canvas is in Screen Space
The output.log file shows that UnityEngine.UI.dll loads correctly.

    Am I missing anything?
I searched the forum for that issue, I assumed that if this was a bug other people would have mentioned it. Not so. So, I'm probably doing something wrong.

    Or is this normal?

    Can anyone help?

Screencap: Scene in editor and in standalone window. Missing GUI elements.

How is your UI configured to scale / position elements? It's possible that your runtime resolution is smaller then in editor and it is clipping the UI out. Change the gameview to the size of your standalone player and see if the UI is still visible in the game view.

Hey, thanks for looking this up.
Well, it seems the project was corrupted for some reason. Wasn't able to re-open it..
I rebuilt it, with the same elements, and now both the .exe and web player work fine.

BTW, great stuff this new UI!
Now with the doc online, it makes a lot of sense and UI is so much easier.
Can't wait for the release version.
