    Oh yay, more features I don't care about :(

    Except maybe air play, were is the documentation kept for it? And can we tell if it is on a TV or phone... how does this work, oh and is it for Unity IOS basic?

    Common, Unity 4.2 damn well better have a new GUI system. I have a question though, when the new GUI comes out will OnGUI be updated to use it? Like performance etc.?

    Lots of nice little things in there but i really hoped for 64 bits, still no ETA on that one?
    2 Little things would make me happier than most other things you can do
    1) 64 bit support
    2) Lift the 65K poly limit per single mesh

    Edit: also very happy about the overall many substance fixes enhancements (makes getting the 999$ substance package when it's cheap even more worth it, watch for it!)

    May i ask what the mentioned shader updates are? Is that the three small changings that are mentioned in the Improvements section?

    Yes. Though I wouldn't call them "small", but that's kind of subjective.

    Yay, improved profiling and wow seems faster, powers up benchmark project...

    OMG: GPU profiling is not supported by the graphics card driver!

    AMD Catalyst 13.2 Beta is not playing with the Unity 4.1 Profiler!

    Anyone else getting this?

    Sending a string from a DLL back to Unity crashes the engine. This bug exists since Unity 4.0.
    But in Unity 3.x everything worked well.

    Bug Report already sent months ago.

    Well upgraded to 4.1 and fired up my game project. Wanted to test the game on my iPad and selected iOS and clicked build and run and then a request came up with files already existing, clicked replace and BOOOOOM crashed whole unity. Tried several times and it's the same. So much for less bugs....


    EDIT: I can not do anything to make an iOS version/build. I have deleted the old xcode project folder. If I click on iOS and then switch platform it also crashes unity. Switch all player settings back to "default" for the iOS player but still the same. Only crashing!!

    Back to v4.01 for me.

    GPU profiler doesn't work anymore. Tells me it's not supported on my graphic drivers. I have AMD 13.1. There is no newer stable drivers release. I guess GPU debugging won't work for me until 13.2 stable releases? I don't install beta drivers.

    Same here but with 13.1 drivers (latest non beta drivers).

    Odd restarted Unity 4.1 with new project and the GPU profiler started working?

    And it's faster 17k Cube Marks with new version - Cubemark

    (Case 532454) Unity Editor crash upon editor close

    1) What happened

    Unity Editor crash upon editor close.

    I hit the "exit X" of the editor window, the project/.unity file got marked dirty (I didn't change anything), Unity stops responding and the editor window remains on the screen.

    Last lines in editor.log:

    Refresh, detecting if any assets need to be imported or removed ... 0.034073 seconds (Nothing changed)
    Cleanup mono

    Can we please get an update about the new GUI system, I sent you a pm some time back but never got a response. I was one of the early adopters of Unity 4.0 Pro and there hasn't been any information regarding the new system... Is it coming soon (within next 3 months) or towards the end of the year? It will really help me and my team out to decide if we should continue improving our own gui solutions.

    Does anybody know how to use the new (and exciting !) AirPlay multiple screen feature for iOS ? my iPad 2 still keeps the Display.displays.Length value (found in the docs under new "Display" entry") at 1, even after establishing an AirPlay connection with an Apple TV2.

    Concerning iOS builds : no problem here so far, but only tested on two upgraded projects.

    Regarding something from release notes :
    Substance: XML presets can now be read from / applied to substances in the runtime API

    Any documentation on that ? I can't find it.

    Glad to see Unity advancing forward. The 2 month iterations will mean less features per iteration, so I guess this is what we're seeing.

    Just tested this. The old one I get 26200 before it settles around 30 fps. The new one is just over 22000 before it is around 30 fps. Mac (hackintosh...) GT 640 2GB

    If you suspect you have a bug, bug report it.

    If something you bugged in a previous version isn't fixed in this version, bug report again in the latest version.

    GUI doesn't have a release date, we are still working on getting it awesome.

    Angry Bots is still the default project.

    Odd, Avast complains about "$_OUTDIR\Data\MonoBleedingEdge\lib\mono\4.0\certmgr.exe" when opening the installer, it says: "Win32:Evo-gen [Susp]" and deletes the installer regardless of what option I select (in the Avast popup) :confused:
    It doesn't do this on older versions, and if I extract the exe manually and check the contents it doesn't complain either...
    Temp disabling file system check lets it install properly.:rolleyes:

    edit: when trying to run the certmgr.exe after installation Avast deletes it automatically also then..
