    Hi,

Thanks for the positive comments. If you look at the reviews many state that it was at launch even way under priced.
It is a very strong modular package that plays well with modular building tools or even with the editor Vertex Snapping that can be seen at 1:00

The modular system used is simple yet very powerful. With the many wall textures and a few roof types available you can end up with endless building designs at you fingertips. More then 80 Included in the package and more then 280 downloadable FREE BLUEPRINTS.

    Cheers

    Hey everyone,

    Here are some more parts

Walls that can be used as if falling apart or as if under construction with missing ones as well as loose piles of poles to still be used as part of the wall

Damaged as when there are battles now or some time back showing where walls damaged and breached

Some cool temp barrier spiky parts or just cool moat obstacles

    Cheers

OK, the last of the stuff for this update is inside Unity

    Windmill "fans" x 2
    Waterwheel "turbines" x 4

All exported with pivots in the right place for you to grab and add to any appropriate place and spin up

Just doing a few simple demo scenes that shows Fort walls parts in use and then just basic axamples of these, then you can have it to play.

    Cheers

    Very nice work Cobus :)

Are there any plans for low-medium height stone walls for villages. Here's an example from Shroud of the Avatar:

Not right at this moment, but I can look into that when doing future updates ;)
I could use the current castle texture and those rounded arch parts and make segments and pillars that are modular similar to what is in the image.
For the top/caps, those nice shaped stones that are on the stair cased edges and some of the parapets can be used...
Let me look at that, means I already have the geometry :):):)

That would be great. I have just noticed when putting my smaller villages together with the kit that they could use some classic medieval style low stone walls. Thanks for considering it.

Wow, unexpected awesome update, yay : D
Is there any possibility to add some cloth or something to the windmills? i think the wind will have some serious trouble catching on to those blades with all the holes in them : )
    They do look great though!

    Hi,
Glad you like the update ;)

I just made what I could with the geometry I already had, will see on a future update when a new texture sheet is introduced to make space for that, like the marketing one where stalls and such will get cloth.
I am just quickly finishing and adding low walls like @camta005 requested as well as 4 types of modular sidewalk curbs, just some basic parts that will add loads more to what you can do.

    Cheers

First Pics of what you requested.

    What is coming soon
0,5m , 1,0m & 1,5m tall simple modular walls with several pillars and some cool curved walls to give you lots of low wall build options.

    Cheers

These free updates are nice, and everyone benefits, but whatever updates you do in the future I would certainly suggest increasing the price on the store - even if it's only by a few dollars - just to compensate you for all the updates you've worked on since the initial release.

To be honest, I think it has been too low since the first release considering everything that was initially there. Every release afterwards has increased the value even more. So I also jump on the bandwagon agreeing about the suggestion. Start bumping the price a little with each new release. You are putting a ton of time and effort into all thee free updates. I think it has been over a year since you put Exteriors Kit on the Asset Store and haven't added anything but free updates since. Start bumping the price or at the very least, take a break from the freebies long enough to put at least one paid pack out in between updates. We love free stuff but also understand how important it is for you to keep your family fed.. :p

    Keep up the awesome work!

Even if there's no price increase it may be worth considering doing any future updates as extra paid packs. Eg Village exteriors volume 2 etc Same format but with different textures etc but that are cross compatible with the other volumes.

    Just a thought

    Hi everyone,

In the last few days I had chats with several people that like the vertex snapping trick was delighted when I shared something else I stumbled upon by accident a while back., It makes seeing what you working with and navigation a million times faster.
Thumbnails in the editor, I mean LOTS of thumbnails, not just the one preview one.
This is how to get them, with a few clicks.

    1. These silly, not helpful blue boxes after importing a package.
    2. You can just choose one small directory, but can just as well click on main Prefabs directory
    3. Reimport. It takes way less time then original since it leaves the mesh and texture data alone.
    4. Now you can see lovely little thumbnails without having to click on them one at a time.

    Share the knowledge :);)

    Cheers

I was contacted by the Messy Coder after he did a video review of the Village Interiors Kit
I think he does great reviews and would recommend subscribing to his channel and check his other videos out.
If you don't own it yet, now is the right time to grab it

    Hi everyone,

Through chats with a user that had some questions I just realized something awesome.
All of you that also own the Village Interiors Kit, you just got MANY more options for the building exteriors.
You know those more then 13 wall texture sets that is inside the Village Interiors Kit.
Well, they the same size and shape as the 6 wall prefab sets that the Village Exteriors Kit comes with.
Here are the basic log cabin walls set (Set05) that I did a quick test with.
I took CountryHouse02, swapped the walls, dragged some windows in, and then added different tries and roofs
Also added the interiors walls by just flipping them over.

Basically, so many more wall options has just become available.
I will update with some windows with frames and door frames to add where needed

    Cheers

    Hi everyone,

I though I posted this image, but I for some reason can not find where.
I might be thinking of my Twitter activity.
It is just such a lovely creative way of one of the users that have created something different then what it was intended for.
They used the Stables building and then some of the many basket, wine rack props, tables & shelves from the Village Interiors Kit & the Village Exteriors Kit some more, boxes, crates and barrels to create a very authentic looking market stalls. Add some more poles and some of the lovely canopies and you can have a HUGE selection already.

Please come share anything cool that you would like to show of to all the other users.

    Cheers

    @S4G4N - I've got a request for you...

I've been using the Catacombs vaulted ceilings in some castle/temple interiors, as I find them more flexible than the Cathedral vaulted ceilings. I think that the Catacomb barrel vaults really help convey the feel of being in the Great Hall of a castle (as compared to just having a flat ceiling). Would it be possible to get some modular exterior roof pieces that fit to the outside of these, similar to the "CathRoof" pieces in the Exterior Kit (Castles expansion)?

Don't let it distract you from working on NEW model packs that give longtime customers something to pay for again. :) But if you have the time and it's not too much trouble, it would be a great addition to the Castles expansion.

It's been months since I did much with Unity as I've been redesigning my website, but that's almost done so I've restarted working on reconstructing Skenfrith Castle, Wales. Here's a screen shot. Maybe not totally accurate but you never know. The plan is to create the three castles - Skenfrith Castle, Grosmont Castle and White Castle. These are very close to each other and known as the 'Three Castles' built to keep the Welsh under control after the Norman Conquest.

    skenfrith4.jpg

Any plans to do Norman-style round-headed windows?
