They are well worth 4 or 5 times the regular price.. Sales like this are a steal! I'm sure you'll enjoy them! :)

I agree I feel like I have taken advantage of Cobus, these packs are underpriced at full price, let alone 33% off.

I can't wait for the windmills and water wheels and market areas :)

    Hey there,

Thanks for the positive remarks :):):)

At the end I am working hard to build long time relationship with customers, to build trust and communication.
I love the feedback and input from customers like yourself tat help shape that which you are going to want to use at the end of the day.

Hehe, someone else asked that I add a donate button to my website for the same reasons that you mention.

I am happy that I can provide good looking, affordable assets to many users out there and can contribute to their dreams of developing a game and take the big step to become successful game publishers themselves, and in this way be part of their lives:):):)

    Cheers

    Hey everyone,

There is some interesting development by @AliAkbar happening over at the Dungeon Architect thread.
The publisher has a video of the Village Interiors Kit and Tile A Dungeon - Sewer Kit being used with his tool-set.

But now also with some early tests of the Village Exteriors kit in use

    Cheers

I think the original builders of this place got a little tired one day of chiselling away at the rock face to get smooth(ish) walls :D

    Hey,

Great job with Dungeon Architect as well man
I looks like you have also grabbed some of the FREE BLUEPRINTS as well

With all the modular parts you can build so many different styles and not have two buildings look the same

Thanks for coming to show what can be done with my art assets :):):)

The combination of Dungeon Architect, Village Exteriors Kit and Gaia is really good looking.

    Cheers

I feel like a talentless hack when I see screenshots like these :) I have still some time and work to go.

Also, the harbour area is going to be a vital area fr my game too. Keep up the good work Cobus.

@smada luap , I'm extremely interested to understand how you design your interiors? By that I mean, do you create a sketch of what you want the interior to look like, with regards to size, design and object placement?

Obviously this question is for others as well.

@Cobus , I'll be getting your TAD Sewer Kit mid March ;)

heheh.. Might want to tag @AliAkbar so he sees... heheh I'm still drooling over DA. A little outside my budget for a bit but it is living in a tiny space in my ever growing wish list... lol

Really love what he has shown with the 3DForge stuff. Awesome tool and awesome job showcasing some of the artists!

    Nothing like that at all

Everything is very organic. I often start out with a rough idea in my mind as to how I want it laid out but just let it evolve. House exteriors and interiors just 'come to me' as I'm designing them. Thanks to the modular nature of all the packs, moving walls around is easy enough to change layouts as some ideas don't pay off in the way you thought they might.

The same thing happened with my current sewer/dungeon level. A lot of it was a case of "let's put something like this here", sometimes seeing a particular prefab would spark other ideas and sometimes it may be just to get around a logistical problem as areas started to encroach on already placed areas.

The door ahead is locked but isn't openable by a key (hence the "!" rather than a padlock :D ), but I wonder if those levers have something to do with the solution? :) lol

Who would ever have believed we'd all live to see an era when a forum had a search functionality.... What an age we live in :)

@S4G4N , With your next update, there is an error with House_01 of the blueprints. It has a thin platform at the front of the house jutting forward at roof level which you can only see from below. My 6 year old said I should report it because it was distracting her from putting a tree in the front garden ;)

For reference, it is a pine tree!

Having too much fun with the sewer kit - especially when you can give the player the illusion of choice (as in which door to take) :D

So many breakable objects, thanks Cobus :). They look great but I didn't expect anything less from you.

Also you have a very similar name to another asset seller, I first thought you used to create particles:

    Yeah,

When I saw it a while back, I contacted and asked him to choose a different name, since he renamed his publisher name to this, just a reverse of mine. I thought it a bit cheeky and in bad taste, he told me to get lost.
    So I just dropped it.

Rather spend my time make more cool stuff

    Either that or chimney sweeps!

@S4G4N , I say, what are your design and art ideas for the castle pack? Also, do you foresee a time frame for this release other than "when it's done"? hahahaha

I only ask old bean as I am rather keen to implement one into my project? Also on a side note, I am getting close to showing my first Village Exterior/Interior creation. Obviously it won't be as good as @smada luap 's interiors, but I have made the most of his Simple fence builder. to create seemingly endless enclosures to keep my non-existent sheep, cow and horse assets in :)

Sounds like you progressing nicely with your project.
I am showing the crates during today, they basically done.
The wooden city walls is not far from done either, then it is completion of the Castles and Cathedrals outsides, so it is next on in the short term for the FREE Updates.
Wall textures will be similar to the interiors Stone texture so that the theme carries through, a new roof texture will be introduced as well.

Yeah, that Simple Fence Builder is really a great little gem that will help any person ding them.
    I can strongly recommend it.

    Hey everyone,

Just to show some development over at the Dungeon Architect package.
The developer @AliAkbar has just posted these to show how the tool set can be used to build fairly large villages

Hehe, some wooden fences were scaled hugely and used as city walls :):):)

Have you managed to add UI text over the lock and doors yet, or is that still to implemented?

    Howdy,

As promised, here are the Crates & Boxes shots.
These are just a few of the MANY shapes & sizes, all with or without the cool rope handles.
Open and closed ones, with lids and some nice pallets as well.
The shot with the barrels is to show scale in relation to other props.

Next is the Modular Wooden City Walls, they not far from done actually :);)

Hello Cobus, these do look rather good, I do like the artistic details in the textures. As a non artist I have always wondered how artists manage to add grains, cracks and imperfections to textures and normals. Also have you increased the polygons in the circular models by chance?

Also do you think another wood texture such as the pine and birch (pre existing wood piles) can be applied to the new models for variation?

A long post I know, but finally will these crates and barrels overwrite the existing models already included?

Are your stone castles nearly done.....lol :)

    Hi,

The barrels have way more polies then the ones in the Interiors Kit.
These ones are the first one that the Exteriors Kit is getting, that is why, so that it has it's own.
I do have open space on the sheets of both the Barrels and the crates, I will see about another texture set.

At the moment the plan is to add many of the Market Place related stuff there by the time the Market Place FREE updates is done, food stuff and such.

No overwriting, for their are none in the Village Exteriors Kit :):):)

Busy and finishing the Modular Wooden/Stone Castles/Cathedrals Walls

    Cheers

    Hey there

You already have some inside the v1.0 Village Exteriors Kit release
They are modular, 1 & 2 units wide, will work with either the stone or wooden bridges.

Added those nice tall supports and some prefabs that looks like gear type items, for usage as a a trigger/switch
Here some of the shots from somewhere in the many pages

Some bridge examples with one side, or both sides lifting up, so that maybe some sailed boats can pass through

    Cheers
