    Hey Everyone,

    We’re looking to scope interest in making our 3D navigation middleware available for the Unity community and to see if anyone wants to test it out for us.


    What Mercuna Does

    Mercuna is written as an ‘out-of-the-box’ complete 3D navigation middleware for flying and swimming AI in complex environments. Mercuna does full 3D pathfinding through a rasterized navigation octree, along with advanced steering and dynamic avoidance.


    We know that there are plenty of simple ways to make AI move through 3D spaces, but we are offering true navigation system where the AI finds the best route to a point in the level, and then smoothly follows that route avoiding any obstacles on the way.


    This allows the AI to dogfight in asteroid fields, or quadcopter drones to lay down suppressing fire in RPGs or even to have AI dragons to swoop down and attack players. We want you to let you create interesting and fun gameplay by taking full advantage of the most complex environments.


    This is a trench run using spline-based steering from our Unreal integration.




    What We’re Looking For

    Firstly, just your opinion. Is this something you think people want? Are you generally happy with using simple solutions, or does Mercuna fill a need?

    And for anyone who is interested in Mercuna, would you be willing to try it out in your game for us and let us know how you got on?

    This explain why Unity dont dev a nav volume yet...

    Literally, we have a half of a Engine to sell plugins...
