3D Max surfaces work flow question.

    Hi

    I'm modelling a large object in 3D Max, and was wondering what is the best way to deal with meshes that will receive different textures. I was thinking of just giving them different material IDs, as detaching them and making them into separate meshes in 3DS Max would make the model difficult to manage in that program.

    Different material IDs is fine, Unity supports this, along with multi-materials. Just be aware if you use the same main bitmap texture on multiple materials, Unity will merge those materials even if other material properties are different.
