3d game template karting controller usage

Hi everyone,

i've just downloaded unity and can't figure out why my xbox controller doesnt't work in the karting template game. In the 2d sidescroller template everything works directly. I'm using a xbox wireless controller.

I've checked several tutorials on youtube how to get this working but most of those vids are projects from scratch and all the inputs are already set in the build in templates in unity. so this step shouldnt be necessary.

it might be just a tiny checkbox or something but i can't figure it out...
