I was checking out the 3D Game Kit and was having a lot of issues with missing dependencies only to find out that I had to log into a pro account to install them.

    Cinemachine
    PostProcess
    Probuilder

    are all necessary to compile.

I was hoping to use 3D Game Kit to teach a workshop on Unity Game Development but it seems counter intuitive that a user would need a pro license to check out the tutorial project. I definitely won't be able to use it for the workshop, especially an introductory workshop to get people who don't already have a pro license excited about using Unity.

    I'm I missing something?

You... don't need a pro account for any of those things. You just get them through the package manager.

That's what I thought too but the Package Manager wasn't even available until I signed into a pro license account. Perhaps it is a bug with 2018.2?

You may need to be signed in to use the package manager, but it isn't (shouldn't be) pro only. If you don't see it while signed into a personal or plus account, please file a bug report, that shouldn't be happening.
