The Unity editor crashes (closes) when using 3D gameobject. It doesn't make any matter if I select new 3D gameobject or click the existing one from Hierarchy. No difference if I open old project or choose the new.

However I can play projects with 3D gameobjects but I can't edit the items, which is already quite strange.

    2D works without problems.

I'm using Linux Mint 17.2, kernel 3.16.0-34 and Build #2015101801 (I had the same issue with Build #2015091501, too)

Are you using Cinnamon? I've been running Unity on the Mint 17.2 as well without problems.

I just tested it with different laptop, Kubuntu 14.04 LTS with kernel 3.16.0-68-generic, and it crashes again. This laptop I haven't tried previous versions of Unity, only Build #2015101801.

What graphics cards are you using? Up-to-date drivers, yeah?

I updated the kernel version 4.3.0-040300-generic but have the same effects. Maybe my hardware is not good enough for linux version of Unity. Dell inspiron 1525, 6GB ram.

edit: using Intel Mobile GM965/GL960 graphic chip with latest drivers
