Decided to change this into a multi-purpose thread, as I'm working on a new item.

This marquee sign will feature customize-able letters and blinking light animations. The textures are still a work in progress, but I think it's off to a decent start.

Finally had time to continue working on my marquee sign, making a series of level-of-detail models. This item is nearly ready for the asset store!

I have just had a quick play with this asset and have added one of the prefabs to a small scene I was working on. It seems easy enough to use and looks good. It does have included documentation, but to be honest it is a pretty straightforward drag n drop of a prefab and a bit of rearranging for the letters. Rearranging the letters could be a bit simpler maybe via a small script or something but not totally necessary.

The only issue to me was that its default size seems really small compared to other assets in my project?

I have added a screenshot to show it set up in a small environment.
If you need something similar for a project for the small price it is a nice asset and has a variety of prefabs included with different colour set ups.

 

Default size is too small? Hmm, I had intended it to be about 2m tall in Unity scale... compared to those trees, it looks about right to me. Sorry if it's causing an inconvenience.

 

No inconvenience at all.
For the record it is scaled at 10 times its default size for the scene, but I wanted it to appear as a very large billboard.
Everything scaled up fine so all is good thanks
