Hi there! I'm a novice in game development and I am trying to build a 2D parallax game. My inspiration right now is Ori and the blind forest and I am hoping to build something similar but not that complex as I know my grounds. So far I am all good with the game however, I am having a real hard time in understanding to how to make a world for my game. I do not want a complete linear square tiles map but more of a curvy world with beautiful sprites. I have tried using different ways but none are proving to be helpful. Can I get some sample or more like a blueprint to know how to put it together?

What ways have you tried so far and how have they let you down?

Isn't the Ori game enough? Go get screenshots and chop pieces out of it and drop them into Unity and get started!

Once you have made your game engine (and there are PLENTY of tutorials for simple platformers like that, probably tens of thousands of tutorials in fact), then you can begin to create replacement art.
