I'm working through the "Name the Game" mod for the 2D microgame tutorial and it is not working. The text on the pause screen does not change no matter what I write in the inspector. The box next to header is checked. The only thing I can think that might be causing this is the entire UI Canvas dropdown inside the Hierarchy is faded, as pictured below. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is now the second microgame tutorial that has a bug which prevents further progress. As a new user, I'm quite disheartened :(

I did the 2D Platformer tutorial last week, the final part, "Build and publish on WebGL" does not work.

I am on Ubuntu Linux, allegedly a supported OS! Supported my ass! I used it most of last year and even the very basic tutorials on this website don't work.

And no, I do NOT suck at programming.

I had the same exact issue with the header following the tutorial.
First make sure the UI canvas is checked. If the header text in the hierarchy looks dimmed out, it's probably because the canvas was not checked.
But that won't make it show up like you see in the screenshot.
    Zoom out.
    Zoom out some more.
Zoom WAAAAAAAY out so that the whole stage looks like it's being viewed from space. You should see it now.
(alternatively, double click "header" in the hierarchy and it will zoom out for you)
