I am planning on making a 2D game in which the player harvests resources, sort of like terraria. I don't know a good way to optimize this, though. The best way I thought of was to make each resource as a cube, with a scale of 0.2x0.2. Is there any better way to optimize this?

For a game like this it's not exactly straightforward, you need to do more research. Cubes would be an awful idea. You need to be generating your own meshes most likely or dealing with texture uploads.

dsl for my english level . I do not understand the idea of the cube, for 2d games you should use sprites ( to an atlas ) recorded in the PNG and make the cut on unity .
