2D Character Bloody/Dirty Mask

    So pretend I have a sprite of my character. Am i able to make a sort of mask on that image and be able to make a dirty or bloody version of that character and set it to a value between 0 - 1 and make it fade in slowly as I see fit?

    Two sprites, fade in the blood on top. There's also the SpriteMask component.
