    Hi all

I am trying to go through the Beginning 2D Game Development course. I downloaded the 2D Beginner: Tutorial Resources through the Asset Store, and import them to an empty scene in Unity 2019.4.16f1. Mid-import, the console gives me 14 errors, most of them CS1061, telling me that various editor assets do not contain proper definitions. This only seems to present an issue once I start trying to create and add scripts (unity claims the script class and name to not match, despite matching exactly).

I've restarted Unity from scratch, uninstalled and reinstalled the package, deleted and started new scenes, and tried importing the package to a newer version of Unity (2020.1.17f1, Unity does not even manage to start), only to hit the same wall of errors.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something off with the package import? Any help would be appreciated, as I'm still trying to find my Unity legs.

Welcome, long time lurker, first time poster.

You'll have to give us more details than what you've provided. What's the full error message you're getting? If you could copy the entire thing and paste it here, that would help. If the error messages mention specific files (they should), copy the contents of that script file and paste it here as well using the Insert Code button in the text editor.

Thank you for the reply and the welcome, haha. I actually ended up solving this one after throwing some more stuff at the wall

Turns out it was the version of Unity I was using conflicted with my method for importing packages. I updated to a new enough version that it no longer opened the Asset Store in a separate Unity window and that fixed any import issues. I feel silly that it got me stuck for so long, but glad I fixed it.
