I'm working in my head and on paper on a very simple tactics game. Now was I wondering if there is a isometric tile editor or an easy way to make them myself.

Closest thing I found to illustrate what i'nm talking about is the board from Card Hunter:

So is there an easy way to make boards/maps like this one?

You could make it in 3d & just use the camera to get the angle. That way the moves are all forward, back, left, right & all the tiles are just squares

No, make it in 3d editor & use quads for the tiles & 3d models for the pieces. That looks like what they have done in the example you had.

As a test, colour some quads & place them in a grid. Put a cylinder on 1 quad & squash it down so it's like a disc. Flatten out another shape & put it on top of the piece (you can child it to the disc if you want. You can even add a colour to them as well). Watching the game view, move the camera until you get a view ankle similar to what you want.
