Hey everyone! Im experience strange problem with Unity 2020.1 and 2020.2a18 while working in editor with HDRP 8.1 or 8.2 or 9.35 preview.

Mostly when i'm swithing between scene and camera view Unity stuck for 15-30 seconds...
Or when i want to work with terrain trees, i experience this stuck every click for spawn single tree...

Every click or actions in editor windows cause this progress bar.
Can someone explainer why its happening? WIll unity work fast as in 2019.4 LTS???

    My laptop configuration:
    GTX1660TI MaxQ 6 GB VRAM.
    16 GB RAM DDR4 2400 GHz.
    I5-9300H 2.4 GHz
Unity and project on SSD Samsung EVO 860 Pro 1 TB

    Hi @BATTLEKOT,

The "Hold on" message is a new feature since 2020.1 and shows up by default whenever the editor becomes unresponsive for a certain amount of time (the behaviour is configurable in the Editor preferences).

Have a look at this thread for more info:
    https://forum.unity.com/threads/lots-of-busy-hold-on-etc.833644/

Could you please confirm if the delays don't happen in 2019.4 as well? The only difference between 2019.4 and 2020.1 should be that the message appears to inform you of the waiting time.

If 2020.1 and 2020.2 are slower, please submit a bug report for this issue with reproduction steps and ideally a minimal reproduction project.

I've seen that kind of delay message on 2020.2 if I've had static batching enabled (from player settings) with ton of geometry in the level. If that's the case, it's not related to HDRP specifically and can happen on built-in renderer too.

Can you check if the delay goes off without static batching?

I get this a lot when I am switching between scenes. The scenes are pretty much empty so it is not related to the content of the scene either.

I get the feeling that it is related to Animation and Animation Rigs as my scenes have those quite a bit, but it is so random sometimes I get a bit confused. Anyway, I hope this gets some dev time and rectified.

There was an issue with 20a that kept us from publishing it. 21a should be published later today.

sadly, but on fresh created HDRP Project 2020.2a21 its still slowly than 2019.4.
Also on both fresh projects URP and HDRP i'm spot spikes in physics on default scene =(
