2018.3.x beta Linux editor downloads

Oh wow, totally missed that linux was there. I've checked out the main page for downloads and haven't seen it there so I thought it's not available. Still, I probably won't try it.

Is there any ETA for 2018.3 stable release? Any roadmap?

 

Actually it's all in the Unity hub as well. Along with 2018.2.9f1

Uh, that's a shame, but I guess they're transitioning to support linux officially which is good. I'm used to checking that thread anyway.

 

Unfortunately it can't even download itself on Fedora 26. It started download but it stops. I tried it many times (both Beta 1 & Beta 2) and i didn't interrupt it (even doesn't touch a computer to don't interrupt this kind of installer) when it lies in output "cancelled by user".
Download speed is more than 3 megabytes/sec so the connection doesn't look like problem.

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Why is so problem to make regular linux packages at least for main distros (.deb / .rpm) which could be easily upgradable than reinventing the wheel which even doesn't work at all?

Are there no component download links for Linux? Like Android build module?

 

Does the Unity HUB work on headless Linux environments?
We are using the Linux editor on our CI.

 

See this response in another thread. The move to Hub for all future releases is premature as it doesn't work yet. And it is also the wrong direction for headless build servers.

 

I've found this works from a clean install of Linux Ubuntu 18.10. I did install Steam from the terminal with
sudo apt-get install steam
first in case the following doesn't work first time:
Download and install unity-editor_amd64-2017.2.0b11
Download and run UnityHubSetup.AppImage
Now you can remove unity-editor_amd64-2017.2.0b11 before installing Unity
