2018.2.8f1 caused a false positive with MalwareBytes saying it was ransomware.

It was a bit strange to see, but I just installed 2018.2.8f1 and when I went to open it up MalwareBytes came back with this.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a good solution aside from contacting specific anti-virus providers and asking them to whitelist your program.

 

It's no worries, I just made sure to exclude the Unity folder. I just more wanted to report it just in case of who knows what, lol.

 

Actually there is this other thread too. Unity Devs have commented on it, so a post here would give them a notification.
