I've installed subj into home folder and trying to launch it. What happens: If I create a new project, it launces and starts to import assets (even if I choose no assets to import) then crashes and launches the Bug Reporter; If I open the project CREATED with 2018.1.0.b8, it says that project was created with b6, tries to convert it and crashes with opening of Bug Reporter.
I've reported the same problem (Case 1005186), except I'm using Solus 3.0 not Ubuntu 16.04. If you haven't already, you should submit a bug report as the differences in our OS might help eliminate a few things for the people working on it.
May be related to https://forum.unity.com/threads/beta-2018-1-b7-doesnt-start-on-mac.518791 We're investigating - it's possible that our build process may be generating code that's not compatible with phenom2. Is 2018.1 the first version where you've experienced this problem?
Could you attach a core file to your bug report? (or post a link here) It would help us nail down what's going on on your systems. https://stackoverflow.com/questions...inux-when-a-process-gets-a-segmentation-fault
So this core file makes it seem like you're experiencing https://forum.unity.com/threads/bui...ge-cpu-time-limit-exceeded-core-dumped.520157
@Tak So how do I disable progressive lightmapping? I thought enlighten was the default and I can't create a new project with 2018 at all to check that's still the case. I've had a quick look through the ProjectSettings files and couldn't see any options there for it. The only place I can find lighting settings is in scene files but it's not obvious what to change to what.
