    Hello All!

I've been considering getting a new laptop (cause I am currently writing this on an old macbook running MacOSX 10.7.5.)

I was thinking of getting a "2 in 1" cause I am working on animation as well. And that would be a perfect setup!

I could make sprites and animate them with the touchscreen, and then switch to laptop mode and program the game.

    Anyways, my question is this....

Does anyone know of a 2 in 1 laptop that will run linux well (including the touchscreen) without having to buy a new wifi card, have enough cpu/gpu power to run unity well, and is under $1000

I don't care about the size or how slim it is.

Any suggestions would be more than great! <]8•\

Are you looking for a laptop that works out of the box? Or are you willing to do some fiddling in a terminal or with settings?

I wouldn't mind having to configure anything as long as it works as expected when i'm finished. Mainly the touchscreen.

I thought I should also mention that I don't care about a working fingerprint scanner or webcam.

I noticed that the one that ships with Ubuntu doesn't have a touchscreen.

Will Ubuntu run on the touchscreen version?

EDIT: Of the ones that ship with Ubuntu, only one doesn't have a touchscreen.

    Thanks!

Looking at them again I'm not positive they're 2-in-1 laptops. I thought they were identical to the 9365 but with Ubuntu.

Well for anyone else looking for a 2 in 1 laptop to run linux, after some research I decided to go for the Lenovo Yoga 720 15"!

I'll post an update telling about how ubuntu runs on it after I get it!

Ok so I'm gonna post a video going into more detail later.

But a few things I noticed are first the touch screen and touch pad worked with Ubuntu without having to install drivers.

But the touch screen won't show up in the Wacom drivers settings.

"Hover click" is always on so that's pretty much useless for drawing.

Plus Ubuntu won't use the NVidia graphics card so its a little slow.

For now, as much as I hate it, I'm gonna use windows.

I'll post a link to the video telling how to fix these various problems as soon as I figure out how to fix these various problems. ;>
