    Hi Guys,

I would like to try my art assets in Unity 5 and set it up like 2.5D game. 2D layers with 3D characters.
I dont wanna use 3rd party plugins, but I would like to ask if there is somebody who could share scripts with me and help me set it up.

    Good example is this game:

    jump to 1min

I guess I would need help with path finding, camera and mouse functions.

    Thanks a lot.

Hmm sounds like you need to start with basics since those are very easy to do and learn and for the game they seem to reveal it all on how to do the setup.

Your next post will be your 1337th. Use it wisely.

@patrikspacek I also recommend the url ostwin posted. Setting up the scene as you're describing can be done in part with the editor, no scripting required.

I have set up the scene, I have path finding working, 3D character is walking, mouse control works well.

    There are a few challenges!

    1. Background is bunch of 2D layers (billboards) which is flat object and 3D character cant cast shadow on it. So, if there is a table, which should bend character's shadow, it wont work :(... I guess, I have to create a simple invisible 3d objects just for the shadows in the room and hope, it fits my perspective in the background image?

    2. Perspective camera makes nice parallax, but also comes with issue. I have lights on ceiling, and those lights have fog. To make them look correctly I had to place them close to ceiling image, so there is no visible movement, when camera moves to the sides. But there is a moment, when character needs to be in front and behind this fog and there is no space between two planes, because there are so close. Any solution?

    3. Transparent shader which can receive shadows from other objects. Unity 5

    Thanks
