1st Annual Beautify Contest April 2017 (Discussions and Rules)

The 1st Annual Beautify Contest will take place here on this forum from 1st to 30th April!
A $200 prize will be granted to the winner plus a free voucher for any of our assets to the rest of finalists.

Rules:

1) From 1-20 April (til 23:59h CET), post your screenshots or video clips on the contest thread. Please keep this thread for discussions or comments.
2) Each participant should post a single message per project with all the screenshots or video clips.
3) The screenshots or videoclips must showcase a project created with Unity and be using Beautify image effect.
4) All forum users can click on "Like" to show their support.
5) On April 21, the 3 screenshots/videoclips with more "likes" will be selected as finalists plus 2 other hand-picked submissions for a total of 5 finalists.
6) To decide the winner for this competition, a poll will be enabled on April 21 with the 5 finalists.
7) On April 30, the most voted project in the poll will receive $200 USD payable through PayPal (no other payment method allowed). If the winner can't accept PayPal payments he/she may opt to receive a similar amount in free vouchers for our assets.
8) The rest of finalists will receive a free voucher for any of our assets.
9) To prevent any kind of "cheating" you may be requested to send a screenshot of your Unity Editor showing Beautify attached to your camera.

This is an excellent opportunity to get some reward for your hard work and also a way to say thank you for using Beautify in your projects.

Please keep this thread on topic. For any question related to Beautify image effect itself, use the asset thread.

Given that Beautify is a paid asset, and required for the contest, this sounds like it could be considered a lottery, and therefore illegal, at least in the US.

 

Hi there! This has been discussed with staff at Unity and it was ok to go Regards.

 

How could it be considered a lottery? It's not random. People already have the asset so it's not gambling either. It's a competition. Does this make every photoshop, blender, daz competition a lottery too? :S

 

You must be fun at parties.

Definitely taking part in this, as Beautify has become a staple in every single project of mine.
Excellent plugin, and check my entry to see the effect it really has.

We're less than 10 days ahead for the final poll! Who will qualify..?

 

Contest have real visibility ? Not many "likes" ...

 

Seems that posting the contest thread on the Asset Store board was not optimal since that board has lot of activity and it quickly gets buried. It's been announced on the asset page itself and on social media but yes, it should attract more likes!
