I'd like to say thanks to the entire Unity team. I'm in here since 10 years (+4 days) and it was (and still is) a tremendous time.

Numerous game prototypes have been created, cutting edge AR and VR applications have been developed which, as of today, have been used to help children, teenagers and adults to lower pain perception during medical interventions. Some of our VR applications have been used to rise awareness of potential dangers in work spaces.

In the next couple of months, my company will offer services to towns and museums to improve their touristic services.

All of this wouldn't have been possible without the constant hard work of Unity and their highly professional teams. I'm looking forward for the upcoming years and the improvements which are coming to Unity.

So, from me and my entire team: thank you, Unity. You're awesome!

joined the forum 2009 too, but my actual Unity journey began a little earlier...
1-2 yrs earlier as far i remember ...
There actually WERE only Mac users , as no windows Editor existed back then...

Thank you Unity... for sucking 10+ years of my life into a lead lined pit buried deep underground from whence no light or memories escape. :D :D :D

No, I've never used a one-button mouse with a Mac. They've always supported multiple buttons, even with the old crappy pre-OS X system.

But if we're designing for Mac users, shouldn't we assume that they use a one button mouse? I'm doing a Mac version of the current (PC) game we're working on, and have to account for the one button. If I start getting used to two on that machine I fear the user's experience will be subpar to my own.

You should never assume anything about mice on any system...the mouse Apple currently sells is a multi-button mouse, and you can buy one-button mice for Windows machines. In any case, the majority of Mac users aren't going to be using a mouse anyway, but rather a trackpad (and that goes for Windows as well; most computer users in general are on laptops). All controls should be re-bindable.

Interesting. I've got a brand new iMac sitting on my desk that I bought for this project but have barely used. It's got one button on the mouse, but maybe that one button is actually two disguised as one(?) Need to spend some more time with that thing, which will happen soon.

    Yep.

Another old Mac Unity user here. I was in college and in love and spent something like $250 precious dollars on Unity Indie.

Also: I still remember one particularly elated occasion from back then – Eric helped me write a script that procedurally generated a grid mesh. :)

The magic mouse is a monstrosity. I adore mac products but I got a two button microsoft mouse with a scroll wheel.

Apparently you hold down command or control to register right click, but the hell with that! Also, it is insanely poorly designed, it's too flat and hurts the pinky after continuous usage. Honestly, in terms of ergonomics, it is all bad news.

It's apparently 4 buttons. (No, you don't control-click, it has left click, right click, some other weird thing like squeezing the sides, and it scrolls.) Maybe it defaults to a one-button mode, but if so just change it in the mouse settings. I would guess the majority of Mac mousers probably just use a Logitech or something though; G400s here.

Wait, I helped someone and you ended up with working code? That doesn't sound right....

It's multi-touch. it has left, right and gestures all built in and on default. "One-button mode" was like 15 years ago. The only thing it doesn't have is a third button, but that is an application issue. They are BT, rechargeable and come in two glorious colors. Unfortunately, that means if you have more than two Macs you need to use stickers.

You click with on the right side. It works just like any other mouse. Just with more features.

The last time I used a Mac at work was in like '93, when yeah, one button mice. This new one is the first time I'm using one again. I guess they've made a few improvements, since then, lol.

Anyway, back on track... yay for ten years with Unity! :)

You definitely don't, Right clicking has been part of the OSX HIG since long before the oldest Mac you can even build to. Any Mac capable of running a Unity game (or any software in the last decade really) has 2 buttons. Quite literally, anyone that is using one button cannot play your game.

Macs in '93 have literally nothing to do with Macs these days, aside from the name. Different architecture, different OS, kind of a different company (since Apple bought NeXT and that's where the basis of modern Macs came from).

I have no idea how you can have one of those things let alone three, but I liked your post because of the stickers.
