Yep, agreed, am hitting this regularly and is REALLY annoying - and thanks for the workaround. Just had the options screen hidden by the main view!

Agreed. I have script objects that are not active but now I cannot trigger a script element in another Scene as I can't find it with a Find....
I just found this same problem after wasting an hour trying to figure out what was causing it. Is really poor that this hasn't been fixed since 2010!
