I think your issue is: using Editor script inside non editor one
If it is then just move your custom importer to editor script

The only bad thing with origin shifting is that any asset on store must be origin shifting compatible i.e. it is not allowed to store global...
We also need this stuff to be core foundation of Unity DOTS
We have server crashes on Linux in last Unity because of logs inside Continuations inside ThreadPool.

It can be possible only if your assets ready for this, materials textures lights.... for each render pipeline :)
