Resurrecting this thread - have same crashes in Unity 2019.3.0b1 visible in Unity Cloud Diagnostics.
I removed Odin Inspector plugin from the project, and the issue seems to be completely fixed now. Seems like the plugin is just not compatible...
Same thing here, didn't ask me for project update first time. Second time I removed Library folder it did ask for project update
Never mind, in Unity 2019.3.0b1 the behaviour is a bit different, it crashes after you press Play now.
The issue happens after API Updater updates...
